So Many Riches
My life choices may not have led me to monetary wealth; however, they have brought me a profound appreciation for how rich I truly am. I am rich in community and inspiration, rich in deep friendships and connections, and rich in kindred spirits on the creative path.
All of this has come together for both the creation of my poetry book, "Singing the Night," and for its launch.
Jeanine Phillippe, a talented photographer and adventurer, shared her stunning capture of the aurora borealis for my cover. Her photographs are not merely lucky shots; she pursues them with great intention. Whether it involves trekking long distances or sleeping in a pup tent at a remote location, she goes to great lengths to find the perfect images.
We are fortunate to have her displays showcasing our beautiful land, and I feel truly blessed to feature one of her photographs on my cover.
Jesse McCloskey, a talented wordsmith, poet, and artist, sprinkles her intricate ink drawings of leaves and woodlands throughout the book. She is a magic maker who perceives complex worlds beneath the surface.
The community of Terrace came out in full support for the launch. Thank you so much for witnessing the birth of my baby.
To introduce the evening, poetry, wordsmithing and music filled the room. It was an explosion of creative brilliance.
I wish I had taken a picture of the food table, which was filled with everything from chocolate-dipped strawberries to baklava—gifts from my dear friends.
My heart is overflowing with gratitude for the rich banquet of offerings, both in the creation of the book and at its launch.
I am so grateful! Truly, so very grateful!
